How long does it take to correct bad posture and what is the best thing to do?
Hey I have bad posture (hunched back, rounded shoulders and my neck juts forward) But I was wondering how long it would take to correct my posture and what is the best strategy?
It depends on what you do.

It depends on what you do.

Stretch daily, do your chest stretches and neck stretches everyday. Typically it will take about three months to see result. Train your rear delts. When you do your weights training, always keep your neck in neutral position, control your neck from moving up when you bench. For the stretches, do it as many times a day as possible. You also have to constantly remind yourself to stand straight, chest out, chin in. After a week or two, it will become more habitual. Consistency is the key as it is to everything else.

Consult an orthopedist. Depending on your condition the doctor may proscribe therapy, or a corrective back brace.
Also, focus on building up your core muscles. I have a similar problem, which results from a misshapen disc in my lower back. Building up my abdominal muscles and lower back muscles has really helped.
The Seated Row is a good exercises. Make sure you keep your abdominal muscles tight when you do it, and focus on your posture.
Yoga is very helpful.
